Questions

What is the gold price today?

XAUUSD was $4,018.28 at 09:00 UTC on 26 Oct 2026, the median mid-price of 8 broker feeds we record. Today's trading day (from 6:00 pm New York time) opened at $3,997.39; the range so far is $3,980.76-$4,021.79.

What is XAUUSD?

XAUUSD is the price of one troy ounce of gold in US dollars, as quoted by brokers for spot gold and CFDs. XAU is the ISO code for gold; one standard lot is usually 100 ounces.

Why is the gold price different at different brokers?

Each broker builds its own quote from its liquidity providers and adds its own spread, so bid and ask differ by a few cents at the same moment, more around news and at the daily reopen. The table on this page shows the quotes side by side.

When does the gold trading day start?

At 6:00 pm New York time, after the daily one-hour break, following the CME schedule; Sunday evening opens Monday's trading day. Daily figures on this page use that day, not midnight.

Is this the official gold price?

No. It is the price on the broker feeds we record, close to spot gold. Benchmark prices such as the LBMA Gold Price are set twice a day in London and are licensed; we do not republish them.
